Are you vegan? Are you celebrating Thanksgiving? What will you do when meat is served at your dinner? Rejoice! Almost everything that is traditionally eaten at Thanksgiving can be vegan!

For turkey, you can eat tofurky. Jackfruit is an alternative to pulled pork. An alternative for locks (salmon) can be made out of carrots.

One tactic you can use to trick yourself, or your guests, into thinking the food on the table is exactly like the Thanksgiving classics, but vegan, is by affecting a food’s texture and appearance. For example, smoked watermelon seasoned and prepared the right way can have the same look of smoked ham. In Goodful’s, a health and wellness channel, video, “I Tried To Make Smoked Ham Out Of Watermelon,” Merle, Goodful’s vegan connoisseur,  smokes, seasons, glazes, and cuts a watermelon so that it looks like a ham. Some of her friends are totally tricked!

“Good For You” and“Everyday 365” are two vegan cheeses available at Whole Foods that definitely tastelike real cheese!

For dessert recipes, you can substitute milk with coconut or almond milk. Be sure to check online recipes beforehand to verify amounts needed.

Be sure to fill your plate with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans, and nuts.

Enjoy! Happy Holidays!
