The CCNY Pantry Is Looking for Volunteers
Did you know that you as a student have access to free food? Come down to the pantry at the Hoffman Lounge, directly to the right of the entrance of the North Academic Center. The entrance is to the back of the cafeteria, and is open to students everyday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday to Friday. In addition, they give out free food in the rotunda on the second floor of the NAC on the third Thursday of every month.
In 2018, 8.6% of CUNY students reported that hunger or food insecurity had sometimes or often interfered with their school work. The project is a collaboration with the Migrant Kitchen Initiative to end hunger among students at the college. They’re currently looking for more volunteers to be able to help feed the hungry students at the college. Access to the pantry is not based on need, but is open to the student body and faculty at all times during the scheduled hours.
