On the morning of November 6th, a deafening silence pervaded New York City as people commuted to work and school. It was that same morning that the 2024 United States presidential election results were announced, solidifying Donald Trump's status as the 47th President of the United States, having won both the electoral vote and popular vote. The mood on campus seemed even more bleak as students and staff, many of whom preferred Harris, mourned the loss of their preferred candidate.
Without a doubt, the red wave has hit The Big Apple. The question is: why?
The Voidz are back with their signature indie-fusion sound. The six-piece band, led by Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, have released their third album Like All Before You, six years after their sophomore album Virtue, and a decade after their debut Tyranny. However, will this release maintain the sonic and artistic idiosyncrasies that have kept fans and indieheads waiting in anticipation for The Voidz’ return?
The class, the first of its nature, is a 2-credit course open to all students interested in sustainability. Students spend the semester working on a capstone project decided by themselves and the professor, Stephanie Rose. At the beginning of this semester, the class chose to focus on two areas of need: improving CCNY’s responsible materials management and creating a culture change around sustainability in the student body.
